This is a classic wonderful neighborhood business. They are great to newcomers and locals. They are no frills and have a sawdust on the floor kind of ascetic. Prices are very fair as well as they have a long history contributing to community needs and individuals. They have a moderate rejection but just ask and often they can order and have in hand for you unless it doesn't sell. Sadly, the neighboring Foodies, a more of a modern hipster vibe grocery store has exaggerated pricing and lied when they first came into the neighborhood. They promised to never consider selling spirits, wine or beer. But like do many they lied and with generous " contributions" to campaigns miraculously got the once impossible Liqour license. Do Foodies helps local politicians while Aka helps local resident's and at lower prices. Oh and the family & staff treat every Man , Women , child or even furry pets like friends. You decide if you want to pay more to Establishment style store or pay less with Your local neighborhood pahkie Got me I got Al's back and they have my business
I love the Al's family. They are so great and always give my dog a treat. Happy to live as close to them as i do so i have no reason to go anywhere else
5 stars. I came here once with my emotionally manipulative ex--a Southie analyst with a drinking (and drug) problem--and Al defended me in our quarrel. I have since found god, married my soulmate, and given birth to three beautiful sets of twins. Thank you Al, for sticking up for women and helping me realize my value!
If they don't have the beer you want they'll order it for you. Very accommodating. Great service. Best pricing in the city. The people there are great. Just do it. Go. Go to Al's. Get some Guinness. Love als
Hole in the wall liquor store in Southie. Can get a little crowded at times, but great selection of wines, hard liquors, and beer / cider. Prices are reasonable and staff is always helpful and friendly. Always has everything I need, including limes, mixers, and cups.
This place is great. They have a great selection of bottled spirits and are always friendly and helpful. The prices can't be beat in Boston proper. The only drawback is that the shop is very crowded, both in the way it is merchandised and with customers. Big plus, they are dog friendly! My dog loves going in there and getting Slim Jims.
If you don't like Al's Bottled Liquors, then I don't like you. Prices don't get better than here. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. They work hard to keep a varying selection of beers and liquors. We get it, they have 30's stacked up in the store. Lets move on. I just want to say to all the staff that we appreciate you, keep up the good work. Social Wines can go to hell.
Hole in the wall liquor store. The guys are helpful. It is a bit cramped in there but they do have a good variety for selection. They even have a $850 bottle of scotch. Prices arent that much more than the suburbs for their selection. When girl scout cookies are in season they can be found here!
